Previously HSM was using 4 tape drives to dump 115 DASD volumes. This was specifying MAXDUMPTASKS(2) and dumping 2 dump classes and STACK(40) per class; therefore, 2 tape drives per dump class. I have been moving to higher capacity DASD so the number of DASD volumes to dump went from 118 to 70. For a while, the dump process was still using 4 tape drives but in the last week it started using 2 tape drive, 1 per dump class. None of the HSM parameters have been changed. Any ideas why HSM would only utilizes 1 tape drive per dump class instead of 2 drives? TIA... Jack
