I apologize if I'm regurgitating previous answers, I must have missed
portions of this thread until I saw Dave's. We are using STK drives in
3490 emulation and I had to set out PercentUtilization to 1700% to come
close to filling the tape.
T10000 drives cannot be used in 3490 emulation mode. This is caused by
their huge capacity - some block counter is to small for this UCB. The
only mode for MVS is emulation of Jaguar (3592-J1A). Of course such
drive has to be defined in IODF as 3590-1.
BTW: when T10K is for VSM use it still has to be configured as 3490,
however I can't remember exact name of this mode (it's defined in the
drive).
BTW: this is the worst documented part of STK/Sun tapes world.
