Hi, Recently a problem was experienced a Channel Extended Peer To Peer VTS complex, where selective resets inside the VTC stopped all tape requests either completing or continue to process.
All VTC's in production are in the main site and there is no channel extended VTC's in this complex active. (standby only). The complex recovered once the router environment was rebooted. Though not broken, that is dropped communication, the routers ran in degraded state. Carl Bauske techdoc FQ106514 summaries what the VTC was doing in the background and recovery. It's apparent to get the VTC active again, connectivity to the link or the remote VTS had to be removed.
