Yes, BPXWDYN works fine for the original problem, thankyou.   However we
have now moved on and someone had the bright idea that we could use the code
provided by Walter to crack another problem we had which was to be able to
run the TXT2PDF freeware rexx program from COBOL  without change.
Unfortunately TXT2PDF includes a number of LISTDS commands.
