I still have printouts of an RMF workload activity and a CPU activity report from an MVS/ESA 4.3 system where I had learned to figure out the capture ratio (RMF RPT version 4.2.2). There was actually a 97% capture ratio for the system / interval. The busy time on the CPU report shows 95% for all the CPs . This was a 9021 (ES9000). I remember the client and from what I recall, there is a good chance this box was running in basic mode. I have another example from an OS/390 2.6 system with a capture ratio of 95.45%. I know for sure this was an LPAR on a 9672 - but I don't know the model from the 2 screen prints I have. I do know that calculating the CR became much easier when IBM added APPL% to the workload activity report. :-) Mark -- Mark Zelden Sr. Software and Systems Architect - z/OS Team Lead Zurich North America / Farmers Insurance Group - ZFUS G-ITO mailto:[email protected] z/OS Systems Programming expert at http://expertanswercenter.techtarget.com/ Mark's MVS Utilities: http://home.flash.net/~mzelden/mvsutil.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
