Jim, a completely different question: can you give us any idea or hint
when we can expect to use executable code above the bar?
In my shop, we have programs that are executed literally thousands of
times per day and program fetch is a significant part of the time
involved. Adding these programs to LPA/ELPA/MLPA/EMLPA isn't practical
because of private area impacts, especially with DB2 and IDMS. These
programs are mainly CICS transactions, but also a significant number of
batch progs as well. LLA has helped a lot, as did VLF until we started
getting close to 31-bit limits. The SLA specifies 2-second response, but
we're barely getting 4-second levels. (Before LLA and VLF, we were
getting 10-second response.)
