We destroyed ours applying maintenance and it got quite small.

Looking the book, check the following:
1) SYS1.NUCLEUS on the new res pack is in only 1 extent. If it it >1,
then
allocate a new one bigger (different name), copy old to new, rename old,
rename new.
2) Put the newest IPL text on the new IPL pack.
3) Make sure the IODF is good (i.e. not empty and is a production IODF).
