Kirk, thanks for info on Co:Z. Its not that I hate OMVS, it was just additional space was required as USS Info-zip couldn't read from MVS datasets.
This solution works for me - can be used to read MVS datasets - can be used to write to MVS datasets as well - retains trailing spaces - uses CR/LF as a line terminator Will see how it manages zipping some large files. Apart from the single "-" file name within zip this is great. I assume there is no way getting around this one ?
