I had another reply to this, but it was a bit of a rant. So, I'll tone it down. How are people supposed to learn "don't do that" if we make it so that nothing that they do can cause them any harm? Implementing this would cause more overhead in the DASD farm and CPU to "checkpoint" the information. How is this better than simply using DFHSM to take nightly incremental HBACKUPs? If we are going to protect people from accidental deletion, then what about accidental updates (i.e. ran a job against the wrong file, but it "worked" because the two files had the same attributes)? I really don't like the idea, personally.
