Why should you have to go and manually (or automatically) delete tapes after 
one day, just because the owner doesn't want to change the expiry date?
It's your shop, but that is the purpose of an expiry date, especially with a 
tape management system.

Once you do something like that, you'll open the doors to even more complex 
solutions for simple problems.
