Unfortunately, the way some tax laws are written, hardening the facility
could be a write-off while a second data center can be a tax burden.

Really, the solution isn't to hurricane-proof, tornado-proof,
flood-proof, fire-proof, bomb-proof, airplane-proof a data center.

That money would be better spent in creating a backup data center at
such a distance that the same problem won't bring it down.
