Joe, If you submitted a job in Prime Shift on Monday, how long would you let it loop. Would you wait until the next Monday to check it? The job submitter has some accountability here.
At one site many years ago we had Rule set up in the Omegamon products to watch for batch jobs and CICS transactions that were looping and alert the operator. It was based on CPU and zero IO rate over a period of time.
