Hi list, would like some help in setting ZFS filesharing. We currently have a root mounted R/O and shared between multiple systems. We currently do not do any sysplex sharing. While the norm is to switch to a new root and SYSRES via an IPL for maint, I would like to have the ability to mount the root as read/write on occasions. Currently this can only be done when there is only one system in the plex.
Apart from the root, the USS on each system is not very symmetrical, and I don't particularly want to have to make it so, just interested in remounting the root as read/write occasionally. We are Z/OS 1.13 There seem to be 2 choices 1) set IOEFSPRM SYSPLEX=ON 2) set IOEFSPRM SYSPLEX=filesys and SYSPLEX(YES) on ZFS FILESTYPE I would the set/leave sysplex_filesys_sharemode=norwshare This should give me the same behaviour I currently get for files mounted read/write (not the root) If I wanted to mount the root R/W, I would change sysplex_filesys_sharemode=rwshare via ZFSADM, then remount the root through ISHELL, then change the default back. Would this work? Is there any preference between 1) and 2)? Is there anything else I need to do or think about? Thanks for your help.
