If you ever wondered what happened to the wonderful PACKRAT
fullscreen TSO command which scratches datasets on a DASD pack, the
answer is that it stopped working in the transition from OS/390 2.10 to
z/OS 1.1. However, it has now been fixed for z/OS. (I have one of my
favorite tools back!) The new code is on File 046 of the Updates page
of www.cbttape.org. You're all welcome to it.
Try it--you'll like it. (For sysprogs only, unless you limit
authority of what datasets can be scratched. See the notes in the file.)
The PACKRAT program does fullscreen TSO i/o. It can operate in TSO
READY mode and does not need ISPF.
