40 Years of VM Community—and Going Strong!
http://www.ibmsystemsmag.com/mainframe/trends/z-vm/vm_community/

...and wondered when it would be the z/OS community's turn. That's now.

More than for most articles, I need suggestions and contributions from the community. Though my first job was in POK's OS System Design Department, I've spent most of my career in VM Land while being on the z/OS community's periphery.

z/OS folk have an eight year head start on VMers, with predecessor first versions announced 1964 and shipped 1965 -- so there should be plenty of stories. Please keep 'em brief, to fit almost 50 years into a short article.

Remember too, this is a "community" article -- so it's about people, events, issues, etc. more than OS technology itself. And, please also send replies to me directly so they're not buried in list digests.

Here's a list of topics not in any particular order... thoughts on these as they pertain to the community? Other topics to include? Thanks...
