I know that this is not the RACF list, but I am not subscribed there, so I am
hoping that someone can tell me what to do. I am reluctant to make changes in
that class - if I am wrong, then I cannot get into my telnet session anymore
because OMVS/TCPIP might have severe problems.

ADCD 1.13 system.
SETROPTS LIST
ATTRIBUTES = INITSTATS WHEN(PROGRAM -- BASIC)
ACTIVE CLASSES = DATASET USER GROUP ACCTNUM AIMS CBIND CDT CIMS DIMS DSNR

SURROGAT TIMS TSOAUTH TSOPROC UNIXPRIV XFACILIT
The book says that WHEN(PROGRAM) is always active in basic mode when
FACILITY/IRR.PGMSECURITY is not defined. It is not defined. Would I also see
PROGRAM under active classes or is class PROGRAM simply not active? In other
words, are the definitions made in that class actually used? (I know I could
test by activating enhanced-warning mode, but don't really want to dive deeper
into this than necessary.)

This was defined in 1996 (showing the ADDMEM part):
0503 * PROGRAM CEE.SCEERUN2
0503 * PROGRAM TCPIP.SEZALOAD
0503 * PROGRAM SYS1.SIEALNKE
0503 * PROGRAM SYS1.CSSLIB
0503 * PROGRAM TCPIP.SEZALPA
0503 * PROGRAM TCPIP.SEZALINK
0503 * PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 * PROGRAM CBC.SCLBDLL
0503 * PROGRAM CEE.SCEERUN
0503 * PROGRAM SYS1.SCEERUN
0503 BPXBINIT PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXEV003 PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXOLVD PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXOV PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXPLPKA PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXUCSNM PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXUEYI1 PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXUI1EY PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 BPXZ24 PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB
0503 RLOGIND PROGRAM SYS1.LINKLIB

If I read the book right (and the answer above is yes, they are used), then for
sys1.linklib profile * will be used (and not the specific program names, never
mind that there isn't any program named BPXOV in sys1.linklib these days). In
other words, for sys1.linklib all the profiles with 'real' program names are
obsolete, right?

Thanks for any help before I shoot myself in the foot.
Barbara

ps: To answer Mike Schwabs question: Yes, I can sent my batch jobs to the
cbttape once I am done.
