Are you still having the problem? i've been having a tinker and may have a
workaround.
Restore & rename the control datasets from the cds backup to your own
qualifiers and then browse with tso superc 3.15 (you may be able to browse the
cds's directly with file-aid or equivalents; don't have them here so can only
use superc 3.15 and cannot do so online)
Then scan the bcds (or mcds) for the volser and there should be a dataset on
the same line. (possibly multiple lines)
If you are absolutely sure the tape is gone, issue bdeletes or hdeletes as
appropriate.
A scan of the ocds will show up all the T entrys for the tape and just issue
fixcds T xx-vvvvvvv-xxxx deletes for each of them if there are any still there
, you may have already sorted these.
A further scan should show you all clear.
