I saw a recent TV special with Michio Kako where he explained the more dense the transistors the more heat was produced. That manufactures , I.e.; Intel and others were quickly approaching their limits on how dense they can be. So the manufactures were looking at other bases for the transistors, like ceramic ...it was very interesting
