Russell used his string as a prototypical example of a syntactically
correct one that was ungrammatical in a very technical sense, and Mr
MacNeil has, perhaps unwittingly, provided us with yet another example
of such a string.

I have already made it clear that I do not believe that anyone has an
obligation to read my posts, and those who lack a sense of humor
certainly should not do so.  I do not "deliberately cloud ther
issues"; but I suppose that I have deliberately refused to reform my
style, in the sense that I have refused to make Mr MacNeil the arbiter
of its appropriateness.

I do not, indeed, understand his moral outrage; but I am anyway
unrepentent; et ça suffit.
