Do not try to use the beautiful z/OS V2R4 enhancement OA54815: NEW FUNCTION - SINGLE SYSTEM SCOPE COUPLE DATA SET, if you still run GDPS V4R1.
GDPS 4.1 does not know this type of Couple Datasets and takes 2 irritating actions: - Cancel IXGLOGR as soon as GPDS sees it - GDPS option Sysplex Resource Management display a pink line about an unsupported/invalid CDS type. Reverting to not using this enhancement (not start IXGLOGR) on GDPS K-systems solves problem 1, but does not solve problem 2. This is (probably) due to the fact that the LOGRY/LOGRZ CDSs are still known in the Sysplex administration (D XCF,CPL displays them). We are currently investigating how to solve this, probably with a Sysplex Wide IPL with new Sysplex Couple Datasets without any memory of the LOGRY/LOGRZ CDS's. There is support for the new CSD types in GDPS V4R2, but not in V4R1. This way it appears that GDPS V4R2 is a pre-req for z/OS V2R4, but it is not explicitly stated this way.
