To all, I am being asked about connecting zSeries, both z/OS and z/VM, to a cloud provider, for a "3rd" copy of the zSeries data. I believe there are ways from z/OS using DFSMShsm to access, both read/write, to cloud data. And some type of interface, from the new DS8910. So, I am wondering, is this technically possible? What are the possible connection points? The features a paid features?
This is not my choice to backup zSeries data to the cloud, but I am being asked. So, I would love to hear everyone's opinion. For background on equipment and software. Running on z15, with DS8910 and TS7770T, on z/OS v2.3 and z/VM v7.1.
