The botched quote- and ampersand-handling in the SAVE macro definition can be remedied readily.
SAVE was written long before the HLASM BIFs DCVAL and DEQUOTE were made available, but with them in hand the fix for it is trivial. This fix is, however, something that IBM and not one of us should undertake.
