As much as Bookmanager was antiquated and clunky, it was; easy to manage from the IBM or a local Bookmanager server I could take my local documents and procedures using DCF/SCRIPT and convert these to Books, EASILY I could search - across a bookshelf, in the bookshelf, in the document and get the results I expected. the results from a KC search will list where it found my results only to be lead to the document, not the result within the content. In these days were less and less mainframe folks are working at my site, I find myself spending too much time searching for a solution to an issue and less time doing real work, then add IBM at their whim change the vehicle for viewing documentation. my opinion, my 2 cents Carmen Vitullo

What would be perfect is if I can search across the whole repo of PDFs via a search in the index.html file. Something like CA had when we downloaded their bookshelves. Apart from the complete lack of performance wonky index on the left missing search scope pages breaking when we 'change version' of product, saying 'whoopsie, this page doesn't exist in that version' almost all the time ... I personally can get used to the UI of this site. Half of the webpage in KC was headers and footers. - KB ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ Original Message ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ On Friday, April 9, 2021 12:19 AM, Carmen Vitullo <[email protected]> wrote: > Late to the party here, but I have to ask, now that KC is rebranded what > happens to my local KC server, and my ability to serve up docs to my local > customers? there was a way to download old doc using an IBM GUI tool to my > server, is this still a solution? is the KC server and content I have > currently no longer viable? > maybe I missed the answer in the thread? > Susan? > > Carmen Vitullo > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Robert [email protected] > To: IBM-MAIN [email protected] > Date: Thursday, 8 April 2021 1:18 PM CDT > Subject: Re: IBM snew DOC Web SIte > > LOL - "Intuitive" - perhaps if you're the person who wrote this abomination. > > I didn't think it was possible for there to be a doc tool that I hated more, > or was harder to find information in, than KC.
