I've had free software on the mainframe with faster turnaround for an 
enhancement request. I've also had paid PC software where enhancement requests 
wee a waste of breathe.

Adding to what Dave stated, I originally opened a request for ISPF to provide 
custom language highlighting approximately 15 years ago.

When I started using SlickEdit, they turned around my request for FlowAsm 
support in 2 weeks.
