ADRDSSU's DEFRAG would do that, but the dataset was recognizable. -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Carmen Vitullo Sent: Monday, July 19, 2021 11:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Invalid names in Catalog
I'm not sure if it was FDR compact or ADRDSSU that creates an invalid dataset name, usually not cataloged IIRC, to indicate a failure in the compact or reorg process, rerunning the failed process successfully usually removes these entries, in you case I'm not sure if this can help. I'm thinking a merge-cat (REPRO) or export to a temp and rebuild the catalog should fix this. Also I think TREX would help if you have the product Carmen On 7/19/2021 10:47 AM, Jack Zukt wrote: > Hi all, > > We are checking our ICF Catalogs for inconsistencies and come across a > weird situation: we have found in several user catalogs multiple > "dataset names" that can not have been defined by any userid as they > do not adhere to valid dataset name rules; something along the lines of: > > IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 50 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLFF-5 > IDC1566I ** ......=.....................................
