ADRDSSU's DEFRAG would do that, but the dataset was recognizable.

I'm not sure if it was FDR compact or ADRDSSU that creates an invalid dataset 
name, usually not cataloged IIRC, to indicate a failure in the compact or reorg 
process, rerunning the failed process successfully usually removes these 
entries, in you case I'm not sure if this can help.

I'm thinking a merge-cat (REPRO) or export to a temp and rebuild the catalog 
should fix this.

Also I think TREX would help if you have the product
