Hi list, We are looking into GDPS and I have a few questions regarding the differences between the solutions.
We have 2 adjecnt sites, each have a CPC and a storage controller (PPRC replication). The production environment is crossed between the sites in a parallel sysplex data sharing configuration. As I understand implementing basic hyperswap / GDPS hyperswap offerings will provide storage controller HA and DR solutions so what are the advantages of implementing GDPS/PPRC offering? What extra benefits will we receive ? I looked in the redbook "GDPS Family: An Introduction to Concepts and Capabilities" and found that the main differences are: "Production system automation" and "GDPS Scripting" what does it mean ? What I won't be able to do ? When I'll want to add 3rd site to the configuration would it matter ? (beside that I'll then need to implement automation and GDPS scripting... but this can be done at a later time...) Many thanks in advanced.
