Good point. The OP didn't mention whether a z/OS UNIX directory was a possibility or not. If so, then DESERV likely isn't the way to go. Of course, for me, if I want to support z/OS UNIX, I'd do it natively not using BPAM emulation (which is OK I guess, but ugly).
