We have seen results all over the map!  One customer recompiled an application
and found it to run 70% faster!  Seventy percent!  Others get 5% - 40%
improvement.  With very small programs the benefit it minimal, some CICS
customers do not see much improvement.  One CICS customer in Chicago told us
they got over 50% improvmenet in throughput with COBOL V6, they could change
their business processes to handle more claims!

In general, customers compile a program once or three times, then put it into
production and run it thousands or millions of times, so the payback is
definitely there in overal CPU savings!
