DSCLI in DOS on Windows is certainly a hassle, and typing the commands into the CLI web page on a DS8000 GUI is certainly no better.

Have you tried the (maybe relatively new?) file-folder icon on the DS8000 CLI screen that lets you upload a file of CLI commands for execution? That's what I've been using lately, generating the commands using a web app I made, but Rexx would do just as well of course.
