Marna, thank you, I've used my workflow during my migration from z/OS 2.3 to
2.4, I've used the assign field to assign tasks to team members, 2 issues;
1) what's the format of the ID? what mechanism is used, if any, to notify the
teammate that a task is assigned to them, its not working for me I've tried LAN
ID (EMAIL) and TSO ID's and none of my teammates get any notification.
2) most of the help at the field level is non existent, I use HCD or SMP/E via
ISPF as an example, help at the field level gets me help on that particular
required field, that's the biggest frustration with z/OSMF, the lack of good,
understandable help or documentation on HOW TO.
maybe I'm an old head, thick headed sysprog but using the tool is not
so....intuitive.
and why not provide export to excel? this would help provide specific migration
documentation to leadership that likes EXCEL :)
I myself don't have a dog in the fight any longer, I SHOULD be retired by the
time I need to use z/OSMF for any migration, but I wonder, is a user that was
assigned a task suppose to get some notification of a task assigned to them?

The Workflow interface is meant to allow you to assign and track steps to
certain people. Even en masse where you can put all Security items to one
person, Networking items to another, by using the handy filters and selection
capabilities. It can even keep track of notes that a person wishes to make on
the item before the item is Completed. And it can keep track of any associated
Health Checks that should be run for that step with their results. All with
current visibility to the entire team in one place.
Also - if you wanted to add your own local Workflow steps, that is not hard to
do. If you edit the z/OS Upgrade Workflow in Workflow Editor. And you have
your local steps pre-populated in the Workflow Editor library ready for re-use.
You can easily insert steps into the provided workflow any place you want from
this library. And then edit them as you desire for the specific release, say,
that you are working on.
