The KVV (as Ceci called it) is based on attributes of the dataset (from the 
catalog) and the key label (from the catalog). If we come up with the same KVV 
as is stored, we decide that we have the right key (with an error factor of 
roughly 1 in 2^256... no crypto person every says anything is 100%)
