"dubbing" basically means that a TCB gets assigned a z/OS UNIX pid. If you run z/OS Java under a batch address space (like with the JZOS batch launcher), then dubbing will occur since the JVM is written in C and uses z/OS Unix services. Actually in this case it would be the JZOS batch launcher program that would be dubbed since it uses z/OS Unix services itself prior to invoking the JVM.
