Wonderful! Thank you. It uncovered an unconscious flaw in my thinking.
I was linking the fact that it was the TARGET with the overriding. NOT bright.
I SCAN(ed) for a data name that appeared in some of the twiddle hits, instead 
of the 
twiddle - sure enough it still got zapped.
