Go into ISMF and choose Mountable Tape Volume. Search the volume in the error cateory and then type ALTER next to it. Put in P for Private for USE ATTRIBUTE, even if it says P already, and make sure the STORAGE GROUP has a valid construct name in it, then hit ENTER. This will clear the error condition.
