That ought to be APARable: data corruption rendering the earlier member 
unusable if
it contains a large block.

Was it that way before?  A flaw shouldn't be justified by its antiquity.  As 
the OS becomes
more complicated it increasingly becomes unreasonable for users to know all its
idiosyncrasies.
