Look at the discussion of the STCKCONV macro in volume 2 of the
Assembler Services Reference.

You are correct that the TOD value is an eight-byte one (as opposed to
the ETOD value, wh ich is a sixteen-byte one).  The value you supply
is, however, only four bytes, eight hexadecimal digits, in length.

You should also consider using STCKE/ETOD instead of STCK/TOD values
if it is at all convenient to do so.  The values you are using are
obsolescent.
