James, Click on the Volumes icon on the left of the GUI, then Volumes by Pool to choose the extent pool in which you want to create your volume, then Create Volumes for IBM Z which puts you into a wizard where you can choose 3390-27. It depends a bit on the code level on the DS8800 as the GUI seems to change regularly. Lots of people prefer to use the command line interface to have an audit trail - see the mkckdvol command.
