After installing maintenance to z/OS 2.5 during IPL we experience 4 Dumps in IOSAS, ending with message *IOS637E THE ZHYPERLINK MANAGER TASK HAS TERMINATED. ZHYPERLINK AVAILABILITY MAY BE AFFECTED.
We do not use zHyperlink: IOS634I 11.13.17 IOS SYSTEM OPTION ZHYPERLINK IS DISABLED I checked the dumps: They're abendd6-27 (linkage index translation exception) in IQPJCST+x'106'. The recovery routine is IOSSILMT and belongs to zHyperlink. The missing PC number is 1B04. None of the 1Bxx PCs are in the 2.5 system. They apparently get established by the PCIE address space, which is not started automatically and ends rc=16 when I attempt to start it. They are available under 2.3, where the PCIE address space got started by the system. Has anyone experienced something similar? Why does IOSAS establish a zHyperlink task when zHyperlink is disabled implicitly in IGDSMS? Any idea why PCIE does not get started in z/OS 2.5? Did I miss a ++hold somewhere? We're on a z15, if that is relevant. No, I haven't opened a PMR with IBM yet.
