I'm really not seeing what problem you have with "... replaced by a 16-byte
PSW formed from the contents of the doubleword at the location designated
by the second-operand address". The new 16-byte PSW is "formed from" the
short PSW at the second operand address, using an algorithm that is
explained in detail nearby. There isn't a 16-byte PSW at the second operand
address.

You're not usually thick, so I think I must be missing your point.
