Transfer from OS/390 to what? Another OS/390? Something else?

For OS/390 to OS/390 can you use TSO XMIT?

We used to use CA-XCOM. And before that, IBM's FTP, which has no relation to
current FTP. The old FTP ran across VTAM.

And is BDT (JES Bulk Data Transfer) a thing?

Which reminds me, one way we used to transfer files was by conversion into a
form that could be transferred across JES, embedding that as instream data in a
job, that routed to the target system, and then took the instream and converted
back to the file. I've done that same thing using TSO XMIT to do the
conversion. We also had home grown utility programs for the conversion on each
end.

I know of a client that does not have a TCP/IP stack, and won't consider one
(OS/390 2.10, yeah you read that right), that needs something more reliable
than IND$FILE. We have a need to transfer large binary datasets, and IND$FILE
is way too slow, and it often dies in the middle of a large transfer.

I remember LU 6.2 transfer programs. But, I couldn't find anything
still available.

Sorry for tagging on to another thread.
