Yeah, I used Rexx's Trace, but, could not figure out how x'99' became x'D9'.
The error was intermittent in the sense that any date beyond 2000-01-01
didn't have this problem.
(The reason why the error surfaced, is that x'99' is an 'r' and the Pull
ORd it with x'40' to uppercase it.)
