Well, it is quite old. People calculated carbon print (energy consumed) per each mail. Of course approx. 2/3 of emails is spam and emailing is not the top energy consumer in IT, and... ...and it is really off-topic. However mail/carbon calculations are really many years old. To be back to the topic: IBM actively talks about IBM z16 and so called sustainability. Indeed - the same number of similar loaded Linux images on z16 consume much less energy. Same for CPU-intensive applications and x86 vs POWER10.
