I think the problem is related to not having the latest updates
(APAR/PTFs) for VM, and then being back level (zVM 6.3 trying to
put up zVM 7.3).
But with Alan Altmark and a few others on the VM List, I think he
now has this under control.

Also, there at least used to be an "undirect" utility that would read the
object directory and recreate a file. No comments, of course, and I have no idea whether
it's been maintained. Would also need privileges, doh.
