For those interested in leveraging cloud object storage, please refer to the z/OS 3.1 preview announce that included a reference to a new DFSMS access method for cloud data - Cloud Data Access (CDA). It is built on top of the Web Enablement Toolkit and simplifies authentication and put/get/etc operations to the various cloud object storage providers. It will be provided at no cost.
