MVS/SP 5.1 in April 1994 announcement letter stated X/OPEN certification was being applied for, my memory is that it was obtained by GA date. MVS/SP 4.3 which introduced Open Edition had NIST certification and some POSIX standards implemented but not all. Neither were actually complete enough to port any significant code, despite the certification.
