CF volatility status depends on IBF (Internal Battery Feature).
Without IBF the status is volatile, however when external UPS is used
you may change the status manually using operator command.
Q: Is it possible to change default status? I mean some hidden checkbox
in Image profile or parameter in CFRM definition.
My comment: IBF is rarely used and AFAIK z15 (or z16) is the last
machine with that option. From the other hand UPS is quite obvious
equipment nowadays. So most CF users have to manually change the
volatility status everytime the CF is re-activated.
