One of my pet peeves is disjunctive explanations:
"Either X or Y occurred",
where X and Y are utterly unrelated and could only have been
discovered by distinct tests.
But the subroutine which performs both tests returns for either
failure with RC=4 and the caller can only report "either X or Y."
