IBM has (had?) a TS7770 marketing bundle for small configurations. The name
tripping off the tongue, it's called the High Performance Tape/Cloud
Controller and is a bundle of a TS7770, two FICON ports, 60TB of SSD cache
and some other features. So, it's tapeless which solves the need for a
TS3500 replacement - which would have to be a TS4500. It was feature code
#5999. I say was because I'm not sure whether it actually still exists.
Depending on TS7760 code levels, you could migrate just by adding these to
your grid.

Just to confuse matters still further, there is a TS7770 feature called
simple tape attach or zTape air gap. This allows connection of a TS4300
library with LTO8 drives in it ONLY for physical tape interchange.
