I worked at Sterling Software, split off into Sterling Commerce, from 1993 to 1996, first in Q.A. and later as level 2 support for Connect:Direct, so have been following developments over the years.
Ed Jaffe posted that it is now owned by HCL. All I found on HCL was this link: https://www.capgemini.com/ibm-sterling-and-z-systems-the-ibm-capgemini-product-partnership-in-action/ which mentions an interface to Connect:Direct within the HCL product HCL Workload Automation but in no way states that HCL owns Connect:Direct. However, Ed being in the software business may have more information available than I have from my casual web search. >From looking at profiles for my previous coworkers on LinkedIn, it appears that Connect:Direct development and support was offloaded to Aricent around 2017. It looks like Altran acquired Aricent and CapGemini acquired Altran, so it is unclear whether there is still the relationship between IBM and (now) CapGemini. This link alludes to a partnership, but it does not describe the nature of the relationship: https://www.capgemini.com/ibm-sterling-and-z-systems-the-ibm-capgemini-product-partnership-in-action/ Allan On Mon, Jul 15, 2024 at 3:43 PM Steve Thompson <[email protected]> wrote: > Who is the actual owner of Connect:Direct these days?
