Maybe not related, but when I was on Fedora 39 and updated to 40, I got all
sorts of Regina Rexx errors which were narrowed down to optimisation bugs
with gcc -O3.
Bugs included changestr(" ",long_string,"+")
and stream(myfilename,'C','OPEN WRITE REPLACE'), which is a shame, as I
chose Regina Rexx because it usually has the stability of a giant boulder.
I never followed up, because I was meeting a deadline. I bought a new SSD
and threw my toys out of the pram--went to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, although
Regina as installed via apt in 24.04 LTS also looks good.
